January 2024 Member Recognitions
We had a great lunch and learn with our new members! Huge thanks to longtime MinnSPRA member Barb Nicol of Barb Nicol PR (Proudly Retired) for leading an impactful session of invaluable mentorship, knowledge sharing and networking with awesome colleagues. Kudos also go to the Membership Working Group, including Jenna Mead and Grace Becker, for their work to put on this event for our new members.
Members Celi Haga from Eastern Carver County Schools, Tiffany Olson from Shakopee Public Schools, Jake Sturgis from Captivate Media + Consulting, and Grace Becker and Dirk Tedmon from Eden Prairie Schools all presented at the 2024 Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) Leadership Conference! Celi and Jake presented “Rome Wasn’t Built In a Day, and Neither is Trust,” a session on how video storytelling has been a key component in taking control of the narrative in Eastern Carver County Schools and rebuilding broken trust. Tiffany was busy throughout the conference, presenting her work, sitting on one panel and moderating another. Grace and Dirk led a roundtable discussion on “10 Takeaways from a Winning Referendum,” walking through the 2022 Eden Prairie Schools referendum campaign that won an NSPRA Gold Medallion award.
